Market Fire in Nasarawa State Claims Two Lives and Goods Worth Millions of Naira

Two people died in an early morning fire at a major market in Masaka in Karu local government area of Nasarawa State this Saturday.

Goods worth millions of naira were also destroyed by the inferno.‎‎Though some of those affected declined to speak to AIT, the fire destroyed over two hundred lockup and make shift shops.‎‎Others who agreed to speak off camera said though Nasarawa State Fire Service was contacted to help put out the fire, it took them several hours to arrive the scene.‎‎MUST READ: 13 persons burnt to death in Ondo Auto Crash

They the two victims died while attempting to save their goods.‎‎The Saturday fire incident is the third in Masaka Market in the last three years.

A section of the market was burnt a few months ago.
