The National Agency for the Control of AIDS NACA has called on Nigerians to make informed health decisions by knowing their HIV status.
The appeal was made by the Director General of NACA, Dr. Temitope Ilori who emphasized the importance of health consciousness during this festive period.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Public Relations and Protocol this Sunday, he described Christmas as a time of joy and celebration, but also an opportunity to take charge of one’s health.

The statement highlighted that free and confidential HIV testing services are accessible nationwide. It urged Nigerians to utilize these services, noting that advancements in testing and treatment have transformed HIV from a death sentence into a manageable condition.
It also advised the use of protection during sexual activities and encouraged abstinence as the safest option for those who choose it.
