Nasarawa State Begins Payment Of New National Minimum Wage December 2024

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule says the state government will begin the payment of the new national minimum wage of 70,500 naira from this month, December 2024, despite ongoing industrial action in the state.

Governor Sule said this during the commissioning of the remodeled office of the State Deputy Governor in Lafia.

The Nasarara state governor says he is interested in looking into the consequential adjustment issue because the previous administrations in the state were misled to approve higher percentage despite the state’s lean resources when compared to its peers in the region in the past.

He however appealed to the labour unions in the state to return to work as negotiations continue with a view to reaching amicable agreement.

Governor Sule promised to continue to prioritize the welfare of the workers in the state hence his administration has been working closely with the organized labor for mutual benefits devoid of industrial disharmony.
