Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, says the federal government and the army authorities place high premium on the welfare of troops to boost their morale in defending the territorial integrity of the nation.
Lieutenant General Oluyede gave the assurance during an operational visit to 12 Brigade Nigerian Army, Chari Magumeri Barracks in Lokoja, Kogi State.
The Army Chief who was making his maiden operational visit to the formation was accompanied by top army officers.
General Oluyede commended the officers and soldiers for their sacrifice in defence of the country, reminding them that Nigerians are looking up to them to make the country safe.
The Army Chief later inaugurated the construction of an industrial electrically powered borehole with a 6,000 litre capacity tank and inspected a well equipped medical facility built to meet the health needs of the troops.
