Nigerian Works Minister Umahi reopens Independence Bridge in Lagos

Nigeria’s Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has reopened the Independence Bridge in Lagos after days of repair, which resulted in gridlock in the state.
In a video released by TVC on Friday, Umahi and his team reopened the road for use by Lagosians.
Earlier, the minister had announced that he would reopen it by 3pm on Friday, but it was brought forward.

This comes after residents of Lagos experienced heavy traffic on Wednesday due to the closure of the Independence Bridge in the past four days for repair.
DAILY POST recalls that on Monday, Mrs Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, confirmed the closure of Independence Bridge.
But Umahi said he was not informed before the closure of Independence Bridge in Lagos State, which resulted in traffic gridlock on Wednesday.
