Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has asked politicians and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to conduct elections in the country according to the constitution guilding the process.
Governor Diri spoke at the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day interdenomimational service at the King of Glory Chapel in government house Yenagoa in honour of fallen heros and retired military personnel.
According to the Bayelsa Governor, if the electoral process were transparent, free and fair, politicians would not have any choice than accepting defeat when they lost election.

The Armed Forces remembrance day is annually celebrated on the 15th of January across the country in honour of retired and fallen military personnel for their sacrifice in protecting the lives of the citizens and the nation’s territory.
