North Will Soon Decide Its 2027 Move – Hakeem Baba-Ahmed Declares

Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, a former Special Adviser on Political Matters to President Bola Tinubu, says the North will soon declare its political stance ahead of the 2027 general elections — and no candidate can win without the region’s backing. In a viral interview on Sunday, April 20, Baba-Ahmed said the North is more politically aware than ever and will no longer support any leadership that ignores its struggles, particularly around insecurity and marginalisation. “If they plan to rig the election, they should be careful. The rest of the country will have to align or go their own way.” He recounted how mosques and churches were targeted during Buhari’s campaigns to destabilise the region, saying that history must not repeat itself. “Conducting a bad election in 2027 may lead to the end of Nigeria — I swear to God,” he declared.
