The Chairperson, Nigeria Union of Journalists FCT Council, Grace Ike, wants media practitioners to make judicious use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to strengthen journalism, especially in combating fake news and job efficiency.
The NUJ Chairperson who said this during a capacity building workshop organised for over 70 Journalists in Abuja, described Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a timely intervention tool that equips Journalists with the skills needed to stay relevant and responsible in a rapidly evolving digital era.
According to the facilitators, the workshop was intended to explore the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence on news reporting, fact-checking, and audience engagement.

The Chairperson, Nigeria Union Of Journalists, FCT Council, Grace Ike, appreciated the facilitators of the capacity building workshop and emphasised the need for Journalists to remain guided by the ethical principles of the profession.
They all agreed that the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in news writing has significantly enhanced productivity, especially in research, data analysis and fact-cheking.
