Obasa: ‘Our Speaker’ – Drama as Lagos lawmakers chant Meranda’s name

There was a mild drama in the Lagos State House of Assembly complex on Monday as lawmaker chanted Mojisola Meranda’s make, calling her their Speaker.
Obasa was impeached as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly a few weeks ago and Meranda was sworn in to replace him.
However, on Monday morning lawmakers accompanied Meranda to her new office, while chanting and praising her in a celebratory mood.
They urged Meranda to continue her good work.
“Madam, continue your work; your work is appealing to us. You are the Speaker, you are the Speaker, you are the Speaker.
“Speak for Lagos. Continue with your work,” they said.
Meanwhile, Obasa had rejected his impeachment, stressing that it didn’t follow due process.
