The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Ogun State Command has announced the arrest of 675 drug offenders and the seizure of 9.7 tons of drugs including 537.81 liters of liquid-based hard illicit drugs in 2024.
The Ogun State NDLEA Commander, Tijjani Rabe, disclosed the development at a press briefing at the command headquarters in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
In his remarks, Commander Tijjani Rabe, who noted that all illicit drugs in the state have been taken out of circulation said cannabis sativa, also known as India hemp, ranked top in the seizures.
The NDLEA commander said his command achieved a total of 221 convictions in the year 2024 ranking one of the highest amongst all commands of the NDLEA formations across the country.
Tijjani used the meeting to acknowledge the efforts of his team, security agencies, and the public for the successful operations.
