Ondo Governorship Election: PDP postpones NEC Meeting

Nigeria’s biggest opposition party, The Peoples Democratic Party PDP has postponed its National Executive Committee meeting earlier scheduled for Thursday this week.

The postponement of the National executive committee meeting is to allow a seamless preparation and participation in the November 16 Ondo State Govenroship Election.

This was disclosed in a communiqué issued by the party’s Governors’ Forum, under the leadership of Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, following a consultative meeting with various party organs.

Also in attendance at the stakeholders meeting on Tuesday were the PDP National Working Committee, the National Assembly leadership of the party caucus, and the Forum of former PDP governors.

According to the statement, the meeting has now been rescheduled for November 24, 2024.

The crisis in the PDP has continued to fester with even the Governors’ Forum factiobalised despite concerted efforts by some of the elders to find lasting solutions to the logjam.
