Over 30 gunmen attack Bauchi community, abduct residents, injure others

At least one person has been killed, another injured, and ten others kidnapped after armed men attacked Dogon Ruwa village in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The attack, which happened around 3:25 a.m. on Saturday, was carried out by about 30 gunmen who stormed the village, shooting into the air, stealing valuables, and whisking away residents into the nearby forest.
According to a post by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X on Sunday, two people, identified as 67-year-old Sallau Mun and 40-year-old Alhaji Gambo, were shot during the attack.
“They were rushed to Duguri General Hospital, but Sallau Mun later died from his injuries. Alhaji Gambo is still receiving treatment,” Makama wrote.
In response, security operatives, including soldiers, police officers, local vigilantes, and hunters, have been deployed to the area to search for the victims and track down the attackers.
