Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has assured that the police and other security agencies will activate all their assets to secure Ogun State and, by extension, Southwest Nigeria.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola, security agencies across the Southwest have intensified measures to tackle the security threat.
The assurance is coming on the heels of alarm raised by the Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde that bandits have invaded the forests in the South-West Region.
The measures to check the menace include intensified Border Patrols. Enhanced security presence along borders to prevent the influx of bandits, improved cooperation among the police, Amotekun, and military forces to share intelligence and coordinate responses, as well as the full deployment of security resources to ensure watertight security.
According to the statement, with these measures in place, residents of Ogun State and the Southwest region can feel reassured of their safety and security.
