Police Begin Enforcement Of Third Party Motor Insurance In Oyo

In compliance with directive by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the Oyo State Police Command on monday commenced the enforcement of third-party motor insurance across the State.

The Commissioner of Police, Ayodele Sonubi who led a team of officers to carry out the enforcement across the state, said it is dangerous for vehicle owners to put their vehicles on the road without full insurance.

Enforcing the directive on non compliance of third party motor insurance on vehicles in oyo state, the commissioner of police Ayodele Sonubi Warns vehicle owners to update their vehicle documents especially insurance as the police command will continue to impound vehicles that are not insured

He Warns motor dealers driving unregistered vehicles to stop such acts, citing security risks.

Some motorists commended the police for their efforts while appealing to vehicle owners to comply with the IGP Directive.

The Oyo State Police Command urges all vehicle owners to regularize their insurance status immediately to avoid penalties.

CP Sonubi says the enforcement exercise will continue across the State as part of efforts to promote road safety and uphold the rule of law.
