Police in Abia rescue four abducted persons, kill six kidnappers following shootout

Police in Abia state have rescued four kidnap victims and killed six kidnappers in a shootout at their hideout in Osisioma local government area of the state.

State commissioner of police, Danladi Isa, told journalists in Umuahia that the rescue of the victims was facilitated by the tactical squad of the command who swung into action and were able to trace the kidnappers with the help of technology to the remote area.

The released persons while narrating their six days ordeal said they were abducted when the kidnappers crossed their vehicle and took three persons away at gun point to an unknown destination along with another person who was abducted from another location

Abia State governor, Alex Otti has ordered the immediate demolition of the building where the victims were found and the owner of the property is to be investigated.
