Comedian, Bright Okpocha aka Basketmouth has stated that some movie producers receive huge sums of money from streaming platforms to produce high-budget movies but end up using 10% of the funds to produce the movie and use the rest to buy houses and cars. This comes amidst reports that NETFLIX has stopped giving Nigerian filmmakers funds to produce original content. In an interview with Arise TV, Basketmouth said;There was a lot of money in the movie industry when these streaming platforms came in. They gave money to these producers. These producers will take the money, $1.5bn or whatever they gave them, they would use about 10% of that money to make the movie. They are listening! They cannot deny it.
