Restructuring: Gov. Otu Calls for Political Alignment Of South-South States

The Vice Chairman of the South-South Governors’ Forum and Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu has emphasized the need for the region to align with the Federal Government in Nigeria’s ongoing economic and fiscal restructuring.

Speaking to journalists in Calabar, the Governor highlighted key efforts to drive regional development.

Gov. Otu stated that Nigeria was undergoing a critical phase of restructuring stressing the importance of the South-South’s strategic alignment with the center to ensure the process was effectively implemented.

He reaffirmed that regional leaders were taking proactive steps, including the revival of the BRACED Commission—an initiative designed to enhance economic growth and cooperation among South-South states.

Governor Otu also announced that the South-South Governors’ Forum will meet soon in Calabar to unveil a strategic roadmap for the region’s future.
