Nine people lost their lives early Monday morning in a fatal crash involving a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number UYY165ZY and a truck with registration number DKA244XC around Aiyetoro on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
In a statement, the Public Education Officer of FRSC Ogun State command, Florence Okpe said the accident involved 13 people, comprising 10 male adults and 3 female adults.
She said 9 lives were lost (6 males and 3 females), while 3 others were injured.
According to reports, the bus driver’s excessive speed and fatigue led to loss of control and ramming into a stationary truck.

The injured victims were rushed to Famobis Hospital in Mowe for medical attention while the deceased were taken to Idera Morgue in Sagamu.
FRSC Sector Commander, Fasakin Akinwumi expressed his disappointment over the recklessness of some drivers, citing their failure to observe speed limits and take mandatory rest breaks.
He extended his condolences to the families of the victims and urged them to contact the Mowe Unit Command for further information about the crash.
