Africa Magic Productions has released the official trailer for its newest series, Uriri, premiering December 30, 2024. Following the success of the Netflix series Shanty Town, which became the most-watched TV show on the streaming platform for 2023, and having worked on a plethora of shows and telenovela series including Ajoche, Jemeji, Unbroken and Dilemma, the seasoned screenwriter and producer, Xavier Ighorodje is set to launch a new show under the Africa Magic Network. Uriri: Book 1 takes viewers to 14th-century Urhobo land, weaving an epic tale of a legendary wrestler who must confront his inner demons and embrace a destiny fraught with immense challenges and profound love. Spanning 39 captivating episodes, the series is co-directed by Usman Olarotimi “Blackky” Ogunlade and David “Gee” Ahanmisi. Although majorly in English, the series is enriched with the Urhobo dialect, offering a unique cultural authenticity that enhances its storytelling.
