Tinubu’s visit: Service Chiefs remain in Benue State – CDS Musa

Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa says the country’s Service Chiefs are still in Benue State on the field to execute the Presidential orders given by President Bola Tinubu during his condolence visit on Wednesday.

The President had ordered security agencies to arrest perpetrators of the mass killings in Yelewata community of Guma LGA in Benue State. His orders came after querying why there has been no arrest since the massacre and directed heads of all security and intelligence agencies to ensure proper intelligence gathering towards ending the continuous violence in the State.

Meanwhile, General Musa says most civilian casualties recorded during military operations against terrorists are sympathisers and trainees of the enemies of state.

Musa also defended the country’s highly criticised de-radicalisation programme for repentant terrorists. He insists that completely deradicalised terrorists rarely go back their old ways.
