Travellers killed As Suspected Terrorists Plant Explosives Along Zamfara Road

A number of innocent travellers were killed on Wednesday as suspected terrorists again planted a fresh explosive along the Gusau – Dansadau Road in Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria.

AIT sighted pictures of the victims of the blast lying lifeless by the roadside, as passersby looked on in shock and panic.

Eyewitness accounts said the incident occurred around 8 am this Wednesday.

It could be recalled that last Monday, AIT reported that the terrorists planted an explosive device along that same road, which blew off a vehicle, killing the driver.

The incident created fear among residents of the Dansadau Emirate, in the Maru Local Government Area of the State.

Efforts to get the police to confirm the incident were unsuccessful, as the Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent Yazid Abubakar, did not respond to call put across to him.
