Troops On Gov. Zulum’s Convoy Repel Boko Haram Attack, Rescue 7 Passengers

An advance convoy team of Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum who ran into a Boko Haram attempted attack on a commercial vehicle along the Buni Gari-Buni Yadi road, has successfully repelled the attack and neutralised an unconfirmed number of terrorists as well as rescued seven kidnapped passengers.

A reliable intelligence source said that the convoy, which included troops of Operation Hadin Kai, the Police Crack Team, and top government officials, was returning from Biu Local Government Area where the governor had been visiting, when they intercepted the terrorists attempting to abduct travellers from a Golf commercial vehicle.

Upon sighting the attack, the gallant troops and other security personnel engaged the insurgents in a fierce gun battle, forcing them to abandon the kidnapped victims and attempted to flee.
