Two kidnappers nabbed by Edo Police Command

Edo state police command has said that the security strategies employed by the commissioner of police Betty Otimenyin is beginning to pay off with the arrest of some suspected kidnappers.

According to the command’s public relations officer, Joel Yamu, credible information made available to the police about the appearance of some suspected kidnappers in a community at Ugonoba village in Uhumwode local government area led police operatives of Operation Rescue to the community on the 5th of March 2025.

The duo of twenty year old Kamsiru Abubakar and twenty eight year old Akhor Daraman were arrested after they took to their heels on sighting the police.

The police image maker said it was during preliminary investigations after the news of the arrest circulated in the town that some persons who were victims of the suspected kidnappers onslaught identified them to be part of the gang that kidnapped them last year.

Yamu said Investigation has been expanded with a view to arresting other members of the kidnap syndicate.The police command has however assured the good people of the State of improved safety while appreciating them for cooperating with the Police in providing useful information.
