Wike Revokes PDP Land Allocation For Non-payment of ground rent

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has revoked the plot of the land of the People’s Democratic Party for non-payment of ground rent for a period of 20 years

The revocation notice was contained in a memo addressed to the National Chairman of the Party signed by the administration’s Director of lands, Chijioke Nwankwoeze.

The memo indicates that the party’s failure to pay the annual ground rent for the property in Central Area, between 1st January 2006 to 1st January 2025 contravenes the terms and condition of grant of right of occupancy.

The breach is said to run contrary to the provisions of section 28, subsection 5 a of the Land Use Act.
