No fewer than three Police officers lost their lives on Tuesday in a deadly attack by suspected armed gang at a security checkpoint in Enugu State, South East Nigeria.
The incident occurred near the Ozudaa Market in Achi, a rural community in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Details surrounding the attack remain unclear, as efforts to contact the Police Public Relations Officer for Enugu State Command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, have so far been unsuccessful.
Ndukwe has not responded to text messages seeking comment.

However, a disturbing video, not independently verified by AIT, has surfaced on social media. The footage shows the lifeless bodies of the officers who were tragically gunned down in the attack, while a vehicle branded in Police logo was ablaze.
The video, which has gone viral, has sparked widespread concern and confusion on a possible resurgence of violent attacks on security operatives in the State, leaving residents in fear and mourning.
